The holidays are around the corner and if you happen to be one of the millions of Americans traveling during Thanksgiving, Christmas or even both Holidays, here are the best days to fly.
Thanksgiving
- For Thanksgiving, the busiest days to head out are usually the three days leading up to Thanksgiving.
- Consider flying on the Sunday before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving Day itself.
- Consider coming home the day after Thanksgiving, as you may be able to find some Black Friday deals.
- The Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving are also good options for returning home.
Christmas
- The busiest travel days for Christmas vary each year since it doesn’t always fall on the same day of the week.
- For 2022, expect the busiest travel days to be Thursday, Dec. 22; Friday, Dec. 23; Monday, Dec. 26; and Tuesday, Dec. 27.
- For cheaper flights and less hassle, experts say you could consider booking a flight for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
